In the aftermath of communal voting Linkebeek who has given thirteen seats in the list led by the non-appointed mayor MR Damien Thiery - which also collected 1200 preference votes - we are waiting to see what each other will do present. Waiting for a first official position of the Flemish Minister of the Interior, Liesbeth Homans (N-VA), obviously still reluctant to appoint Damien Thiery mayor of Linkebeek full and complete. Waiting now the attitude of resigned but acting mayor, Eric de Bruycker, head of a "minority" of two seats. Exact positioning of waiting the winners of Sunday's vote, the list Linkebeek (LB), outgoing majority and future majority that continues to officially defend a single candidate for the presidency: Damien Thiery.
It was he who in fact should again be presented by the francophone majority, after the validation of the election results of the Dec. 13, probably at the next municipal council on February 29 - a first council expected him January 11, being normally devoted to the presentation of the municipal budget. Then remains to see the decision of the Flemish supervision and possible appeals to the State Council fallout.
A Map of the majority: still and always defend the candidacy of Damien Thiery. Supported by his party, the MR, as the "sole legitimate mayor of Linkebeek." With the defense that we can not oppose him the arguments used so far: this time he fully respected the linguistic electoral legislation. This will require reasons for any refusal differently ...
Plan B: Yves Ghequiere
But then, if there is a plan A, the majority now more than ever ready to have a plan B. Believing little hope in a real change in attitude of the Flemish Region. And plan B would be present another candidate, and that candidate would Ghequiere Yves, also appearing on the list LB, outgoing alderman. A candidate whose Liesbeth Homans even in September, during a previous round of "linkebeekois carousel" was nominated as mayor, that the main interested then refused. This time he would not refuse.
With its 958 preference votes collected Sunday (against 520 in October 2012), Yves Ghequiere elected is the second in terms of popularity in the town. "My score, he says, possibly widens and if need be opportunities for other solutions ... if you can not do otherwise." And to clarify still cautious: "If there really is no other way, then of course we will have to open up to other possible solutions and one of those tracks would be to propose another candidate mayor of our list, and prior to that time, it would be me, of course. "
One candidate Yves Ghequiere that takes a long oratorical precautions not to seem already to burn the solution of the plane A, exposing so seamlessly a crisis resolution plan B could (too) please Flanders SINCE it still allows to oust (permanently?) Damien Thiery ...
