It is a silent revolution. Since 3 October, the Law on Intelligence is officially in force in France. A host of gadgets, hardware, software and other algorithms can therefore now be legally used by six French intelligence services that are the General Directorate for External Security (DGSE), the Directorate General of Internal Security (ISB), management Military Intelligence (DRM), the direction of the protection and defense security (DPSD), the National Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (DNRED) and treatment of intelligence service and action against the circuits Financial illegal (Tracfin).
It is among these tools of eavesdropping devices, video surveillance, spy-tags or software to break into computers or phones. Also listed here the famous algorithms discussed at the Law on Intelligence and the IMSI-Catchers, these suitcases turning into telephone relays and identifying cellphones located near a specific point. These are only the best known gadgets available services. This set is used every day in France, mainly for national security, the fight against terrorism and the prevention of serious crime.
